ICRI ANNOUNCES 2004 PROJECT OF THE YEAR AND AWARD OF EXCELLENCE WINNERS

Des Plaines, IL – November 10, 2004 – The International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) announces the winners of the 2004 Project Awards. The Strengthening of a Reinforced Concrete Preheater Tower, Florence, Colorado, was chosen as the ICRI 2004 Project of the Year.

ICRI presented the award to Construction Technology Laboratories, Inc., Skokie, Illinois, on October 21 at the ICRI 2004 Fall Convention in San Francisco, California. The strengthening project was quite extraordinary as it required precision-drilling horizontal holes up to 87 feet long in the beams of the elevated frame structure, without cutting existing embedded reinforcement. Construction Technology Laboratories shared the honors with project partners, Walker Restoration Consultants, Holcim Group Support (Canada), Ltd., Structural Preservation Systems, Inc., Cutting Technologies, Inc., VSL, Sika Corporation, and owner, Holcim (U.S.) Inc.

ICRI also awarded six 2004 Awards of Excellence. Detailed descriptions of the winning projects can be found in the November/December 2004 issue of the Concrete Repair Bulletin and in the Awards section of our website.
