WHAT IS THE CSMT EDUCATION COURSE?

The ICRI Concrete Slab Moisture Testing Education Course offers current and reliable education to understand and improve the performance of concrete slab moisture testing without the commitment of completing our certification course.

Explore the fundamentals of moisture in concrete, followed by identifying the five (5) ASTM test methods used to measure and quantify. Each test is explained to provide an understanding of their significance, followed by a demonstration of proper preparation and execution.

Both seasoned professionals and industry newcomers will benefit from taking this course. This program provides the basis of concrete slab moisture and testing with detailed explanations of nuanced test methods and their significance.

Please note, this education course is not a pathway to certification. Fees and time spent in this course do not apply to the certification process. This course is intended for those only seeking the educational component.

  • Module 1: Introduction to the Concrete Slab Moisture Testing program and ICRI
  • Module 2: Understanding Concrete Moisture, Part I
    Why it is important to conduct moisture testing, sources of moisture in the concrete, and what moisture-related flooring and coating problems look like.
  • Module 3: Understanding Concrete Moisture, Part II
    Learn the difference between quantitative and qualitative tests, which tests are available, and the importance of calibration.
  • Module 4: Review of ASTM F1869
    Including equipment required, preparation, procedures, along with the benefits and limitations.
  • Module 5: Review of ASTM F2170
    Including equipment required, preparation, procedures, and potential influences on the test.
  • Module 6: Review of ASTM F2659 & F3191
    Including equipment required, preparation, procedures, and potential influences on the test.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Attendees are eligible to receive 6.0 continuing education units as either Professional Development Hours (PDH) or American Institute of Architects Learning Units (AIA LU).
